Default Air suspension and fuel rail inquiries - 2008 Range Rover HSE 4.4L

Evening (maybe!), thanks, in advance, for any insight.

My questions are: are the "air suspension shock struts" on Amazon and eBay decent quality (here's an example: shorturl.at/aoX12)? More specifically, I notice that the mechanic at a local shop has the price of one being ~$575. Atlantic British has one at ~$400. Then, there's the $200 ones from Amazon and eBay . Anyone have any experience with the $200 pieces? Also, do they have to be replaced in a pair or can one be replaced at a time?

As for the fuel rail: the mechanic is saying that a driver's side fuel rail pressure regulator is leaking fuel (which, I've been smelling fuel for some time now). They said that the regulator CAN NOT be replaced separately. The entire fuel rail must be replaced, supposedly. They've priced a new fuel rail at ~$3,500 which is friggin' preposterous and ridiculous, to put it nicely. I see that there are used rails for sale on eBay for ~$50. Anyone have any insight and/or experience with the fuel rail and the regulators?

Cheers.

You can replace the air springs individually but since most people are doing the whole assembly air spring and strut, it is recommended to do them in pairs just like you would normally do for strut replacement.

I don't know if the fuel rail is serviceable but if you can get a good used one for $50 I would go that route and swap it out.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. Do you know much about the $200 strut assemblies compared to the more expensive ones?

For anyone that may be having similar issues now or in the future... new fuel rails for sale at landrovermerriampartsdotcom and roverlandpartsdotcom, both of which are considerably less than what I was quoted.

Also, fuel injectors can be swapped from old rails to new rails. Regulators are, most likely, not serviceable outside of welding and so on.

No idea on the quality of the cheap air struts. I would probably go with Arnott or Britpart

Ok. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are made in the same factory and then just branded differently. Bit of a gamble, I suppose. Thanks.
