Default Strange Fuel Rail

Is the fuel rail just an open tube or is it more complex? I've noticed when I replace the FPR or an injector, it seems to lose pressure and gas comes pouring out as expected, but when I remove another injector or open the pressure valve, more gas and pressure is released.

Example 1: I removed the FPR for replacement. Gas came pouring out as expected. Then I hooked up fuel pressure gauge, expecting no spray because the pressure should have been released already from disconnecting the FPR, but it sprays fuel.

Example 2: Earlier I replaced the injectors. Each injector I removed released fuel as if it was under a small amount of pressure. You'd think removing one would let all the fuel and pressure go from the rail at once.

Any ideas?

The fuel rail is just one hollow tube, fuel comes in at one end and goes all the way through and is regulated by the fuel PSI regulator at the other end and then returned to the gas tank.

I'll bet he wishes he could be "beamed up" after all he's gone through. Damn Klingons anyways.

The wiring diagrams are probably easier to understand in their original Klingon....

Seems like you would have whatever volume is contained within the pressurized line to deal with then it should be basically empty from fuel pump forward as long as fuel pump is kept off. So after the inital amont drains or sprays out that shold be it. If it is only partially drained whatever is left would leak as long as there is sufficient pressure in the line. It may take longer to vent all the pressure off than what you are allowing.

Did you flush out the fuel rail when you put the injectors in? Wondering if you have crap built up in the rail.

BTW, did you try swapping the old injectors back in to see if the codes go away? Just a thought.
