just spoke with them they said they tried that ( don't believe them but maybe). they said they tried moving manually and it moved a little before it got stuck.

they want 5k to take out and install a used engine which I would need to source and buy

You guys think I should have it towed back and start ripping it apart I have an 2 ton engine hoist but no lift. I have worked on imports for many years rebuilds etc, but parts were relatively cheap and plentiful cant find any rover parts let alone an engine fore less than 10k!!! crazy!

let m know what you think

thanks again

I agree on a stuck injector. The main concern with getting a lot of fuel in the crankcase is oil dilution, but if the situation didn't last too long, you may be fine. Once it running again, just keep an eye on the oil pressure. If you want to check it out a bit, you could stick a bore scope in the plug hole of the problem cylinder. If you don't see any bad scratches in the cylinder, that's a good sign.

I sent the last post before I knew it was seizing up. Still, some light oil in that cylinder might free it up, and I would still look at that cylinder.

Think I'm in over my head, out of options. The dealership is being vague on what they think is wrong.

Is it worth it to have them take the heads off and see what they find ? Would they even tell me if they did find a simple fix ? Feels like they are trying to get me into a new engine too quick????
