Default Coparts purchase!! 2012 RR SC.

Hi guys,

Recently purchased "mechanical" issue 2012 RR SC with 70k on the clock. Car fax clean other than small fender bender 2 years ago.

I got the car it won't start. Replaced batter checked all ecus with IId tool. No faults besides instrument cluster.

Car has a slight click when trying to crank but doesn't physically crank but I hear the starter relay and whine slightly.

Changed the oil and a gallon of gas came out. Changed oil still won't crank.

Any advice would be great as I'm out of ideas. Even with a stick injector it should still crack

hit the starter with a hammer while cranking still nothing

Let me know what u guys think

Thanks
Phil

Is the engine seized? Have you verified the starter is good?

not entirely sure how to manually crank without taking apart fan etc. I bought a refurbished starter. Will install when it arrives, as I was getting some weird voltage drops. any other way to see if seized without ripping things apart?

no metal in the oil/gas so that is good.

Mine had a blown 400a fuse in a plastic case that hangs down from the positive battery terminal.

The only only way to check to see if it’s seized or not is turn over the crank. Turn it clockwise. Do not turn it counterclockwise. I doubt it’s seized. Most of 5.0s are mechanically totaled due to timing chain issues. I’d borescope the heads. See if they’ve banged against the valves. You can get a borescope camera for $10 plugs into an iPhone.
