Default Rear wiper motor - advice

Hi,.... I'm a newbie member and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
The rear wiper on my 20009 RR L322 stopped working.
After reading as much as I could and watching lots of utube managed to get the rear motor off and dismantled.
As I had anticipated the inside of the drive mechanism was very badly rusted ans seized up (absolutely no movement). After much soaking in WD40 and fiddling managed to get the metal cog assembly out of the casing and moving freely.
The white nylon cog looked in reasonable condition (some teeth a bit worn) but also jammed solid and wouldn't rotate at first but have now managed to get it turning. However I cannot get it out of the assembly despite employing considerable force.
Was wondering if I missing something simple.
Would appreciate any advice.
I know it must come out since I have read numerous articles about people replacing them.
