I recently bought a new 2019 Range Rover Supercharged with the 825W Meridian system. Since that's what I had on my 2018 Discovery and my wife has on her 2019 Jaguar I-Pace, I didn't even think to test it out before I bought the car.

Now that I own it, I find that the system is hard to listen to. The treble is really harsh, and it seems almost like it is missing something in the mid-low range of frequencies. I've had to turn the treble almost all the way down for it to sound reasonable, but it still doesn't sound good like the other 825W Meridian systems I've had. Given that this is their flagship model, and the system was almost a $2000 upgrade, I'm both surprised and very disappointed. (I also can hear a hiss sound when I am playing flac files from a USB drive at a louder volume, like the S/N ratio is not that great... also pretty disappointing.)

Does anyone else notice this? Could it be something wrong with my car? If I were Land Rover, I'd be embarrassed to have this be an upgrade stereo in my flagship model. Sound quality is pretty important to me, so I'm considering getting rid of this and getting something else, but I really like the car otherwise.

I have the same system and it sounds awesome, no harshness, plenty of bass, I use it on the Meridian Surround setting and it is much better than the former L322 Harman Kardon surround system...

 

Stuart. I have a 2016 L405 SC w the Meridian system, and I had to fiddle with it a bit more than I'd expected, too. There are three pre-programmed settings--the Meridian, the Dolby, and the DTS. I've found the Dolby to be most effective if I"m listening to non-vocals (e.g. instrumentals only). And you're right--I've also had to crank the treble. Enjoy your Rover!
