My L460 (LWB P530SE 7 Seater w/ twin turbo BMW V8) prompted for a software update today. After the V8 Defender fiasco update about 3 weeks ago, anyone taken the chance yet?

 

Have not received any update notifications yet. The fiasco with the V8 Defender update where the transmission would not shift past 3 gear was specific to the V8 Defender as far as I know. I have not heard any issues with updates for the L460.

 

I ended up doing this update and everything seems to be fine. Gears are shifting even better, at a slightly higher rpm range where the torque is just right. This BMW twin turbo + the transmission they decided on is IMHO the best combo for this car.

EDIT: After the above update, another followed today 2/3/2026. Mostly Pivi stuff not related to engine nor transmission and mainly for hybrid versions and China market units.
