Brake life experience
Anyone have experience with brake life on this generation RR (SE w/ V8 and factory Brembo brakes)? Rear pads just tripped sensor with 3mm thickness at 15K miles. Fronts are at ~6mm and I'd have expected them to wear a bit more quickly given they do most of braking duty. I get that it's heavy and powerful but I'm surprised at only getting 15K miles from rears. Possibly impacted by auto-braking from adaptive cruise but we don't use that much. Any thoughts/experience are appreciated.
And at least for some period of time, it looks like LR deal with Brembo is for exclusive access to replacement parts, i.e., Brembo isn't offering any replacement parts or info re: pad shape to consumers (yet) - gotta go to LR dealer.

That is too bad you need brakes after 15k miles. Do you happen to live in a mountainous area where you are constantly braking? I have not gotten my new Range Rover yet, but with the previous generation, my brakes would last 50k miles or better. Brembo brakes are high performance brakes and I would assume that they wear out faster.

I could be wrong, but this may simply be the result of LR intentionally spec'ing an OE pad compound that wears out quickly to get consumers coming back more often during the replacement part exclusivity period.
Anyway, the good news is the parts are available (not always the case with LR these days) and doing a brake job is easy.

Agree that 15k is absurd for brake pads even if high performance. I would personally check with the dealership service dept and see if they can goodwill the labor and parts with it being a new vehicle. If you get no help from the dealership, I would also call Land Rover customer service. The worst thing they can say is no, that is normal wear, and as you said, at the end of the day it is just a brake job.
