Yeah, that sometimes goes with the territory. Some of the most vocal people on these forums can also be the most helpful.

I haven’t needed to troubleshoot my radio yet, so I can’t really offer any advice.

I started messing with the HVAC on the old girl as that one is very important

First stop was the Fuse box checked it all over and found the relays were not happy

Then I went to have a look at the cabin filters before I went any further as my googling said they are a common overlook on the maintenance

There was a lot inside with the mouse condo I demolished. Well it sort of paid off. I believe we have one working blower now

It might need more cleaning not 100% sure though😂

Crazy! Glad you got it working.

You’re probably aware, but that fuse/relay box has been the demise of many P38’s. A good practice is to disconnect clean and reconnect each fuse and relay, as well as displacing the box and doing the same with the plugs on the bottom. My windshield heater relay connectors looked a bit like your cooked relays. I use Nutrol Contact Cleaner, which is an electrical contact cleaner with a bit of lube added. I’m not sure if the lube really helps but it makes me feel better.

Yeah I have sold a few of the p38 fuse boxes over the years. As a whole that one is pretty nice aside from the burnt spot. Connections are clean all around

Had a chance to look through your vids. That should make a great truck.
You’re probably aware that the most common issue with the sun roof is the chintzy plastic tracks that it runs on. There is a 3D printed version available which are very cheap, but even as cheap as they are, not worth it. If you can find good used ones that would be the way to go, but it’s really hard to find a set that aren’t broken. They are available new, but are pricey (and presumably just as prone to breaking as the originals). I opted to safety wire mine closed permanently.

I have a good used sunroof but to be honest I am just going make it fixed and sealed permanently as well. I’ve had a few days off from working on it and the 110 with a trip to Winter Romp and Field Training Exercise week at work.

Hoping to get back after it this weekend a bit. Get a good base line of maintenance and fluids and some basic needs as well.

My gut tells me I need to do a fuel filter and fuel pump for peace of mind as my gut tells me the pump is leaning towards exiting the chat

Kind of funny with the 110 I have @The Deputy that is the only guy talking to me and here in P38 land its you😂

Yeah, I think WaltNYC and now you are about the only ones who post in the P38 section.

Maybe I should be worried about my fuel pump too, as I’m pretty sure it’s the original 1997 pump. Too often new replacement parts are worse than old original parts though. And, unlike the Disco you need to remove the tank for access. That might be the only thing that’s better on the Disco (other than much simpler electronics, which after 20 years is a huge advantage).

I noticed that the tank is going to have to come out and I was a bit surprised but I would rather tackle it at my shop than on the road
