I actually signed up for my friend who has a 1998 p38 4.6 HSE. His main cable lug on the fuse box from the battery to the fuse box was loose. I was searching and found out there are two fuse boxes that are almost identical. An ARM6405, and an ARM6476. What’s the difference in these two boxes? And are they interchangeable?

 

Hi mate. It's actually a good question. Try to use an OBD2 scanner. I connected and ran the diagnostic on my Range Rover. It's a very useful tool.

No not interchangeable. I forgot the difference but I have a 2001 P38 and a couple of years ago I changed out the fuze box. I ordered the incorrect one and it was not able to hook up and therefore would not work. I had to send it back and get the correct one.

 

I’m pretty sure the difference is GEMS or Bosch. If you check the part numbers on LRCat they generally list the P/N up to a VIN of from a VIN #.
