Where did the Ignition Wires/Spark Plug wires disappear to?
I've been a long time Disco Owner, and repair enthusiast. Rebuilt the top half of my 2003 Disco engine with tutorials.
I have a degree in physics, and I use to design missiles and airplane guidance systems.
But I am dumbfounded by LR replace wires with direct coils on the 2006 Sport.
The price went up from $25 wire to $200 coils for each spark plug.
I haven't been getting misfire codes, but I do have really rough running and previously I've just replace wires with high quality wires (in other cars) and things got much better. Is there an article somewhere that explains why they made this change?
Can I even do this replacement? Is there any way to get a cheaper high quality coil for under $40/each ?
