It is time to go our separate ways. We seem to have different views for our future. We part in utmost respect of each other and wish each other happiness in their future. . . . .
Offered at $3500 [OBO - I figured someone would at least tell me I was "overly optimistic" and offer to correct my expectations Da wifey thinks I will need to pay someone to come get it. Ouch. ] in North Florida - Tallahassee. The 2002 Rover Disco II has 185k miles on the odometer. It has been my daily driver [for 9 years and 85k miles] until recently I inherited a new ride. Times change. It has the usual Disco II personality issues - Three amigos, etc.
Things I have fixed:. . that I can remember - New drive shaft u-joints and centering ball about 35k miles ago, two new radiators last one was a year ago, custom receiver hitches front and rear, head gaskets replaced at 155k and heads milled .005 with new hardware and valve stems seals, new crank position sensor, new aux radiator cooler [on a ball valve], a heater core by-pass valve [that is on a ball valve that can be turned on and off] [I live in Florida and I don't need any more heat in truck], the transfer case shift inter lock failed so it has been by-passed, adjusted turning radius so it turns like a rover should inside of 35 ft, tires are fair, new t-stat [no surprise], plastic bumpers are broken and shed pieces at random times as does the trim in many places - I add gorilla tape instead of buying $700 plastic bumpers - just could not justify it.
Known issues I live with: No A/C - I installed a new compressor and it leaked down again so it is a leak in the system that I can't find, The interior cabin controls for the passenger and driver side have [partially] failed [the ability to direct air to various locations still functions. However the amount of control is limited on the passenger side. It runs hotter on the passenger side] - the parts are less than $100 BUT I just have not had the force of will to take out the entire interior and dash board to the tune of 18 hours so I live with it,
It is British so it doesn't leak, it marks it's own territory,
It does not have the transfer case with the ability to be converted to locked front and rear out-puts.
Comes with all the old parts I can find.
[Body is straight and no bent sheet metal. Broken plastic yes, bent metal no. No accidents I know of.]
[You can think of it as parting out but you get the entire truck - woo hoo - transmission, engine, transfer cases etc.]
I am offering it here because you all know the score and will not harm me when the truck does what all Rovers do and throw a tantrum.
