I finally had someone take a look at my D1 that knows what these things are. Diagnosis is: both my front Ball housings are toast. Lots of rust and leakage, drivers side pivot bearing is shot, and the drivers side CV joint is toast. Wish I had the cash to buy all new parts but that's not going to happen. Looking for a good used setup I can replace mine with, I was told to look for the Black housings as they can handle the Minnesota winters (salt) better. Anybody help a guy out?? right now my drivers side wheel moves about an inch in and out at the top, but the rust on the ball is more of a concern I guess since it won't hold grease without leaking out.
