Default Diesel Discovery I- I want One!!!

Dont know anything about them, but I want one. I live In CA, so it would have to be factory equipped to pass smog. Anyone know where I can get one?

Thank you,

Abran

First of all no diesel D1's or D2's were imported into the USA. The 200 TDI was EPA approved I think. The 300 TDI is not approved. So getting a fully L R D1 diesel is not possible.
This is probably the only way you can go diesel on a Discovery D1. You can source a 5 cylinder Mercedes Benz Diesel and install it in your Disco. The donor engine must be the same year model as your D1 or a later model donor engine.
Now the other issue is California rules regarding diesels. Best you do your research.properly because you don't want to do a lot of work spend the money then find out this is illegal. Your insurance won't pay if this is the case.
Also all the electricerty is also there to throw a spanner in the works.

WOW! I think I will just continue being a gas guzzler. I work for an eco friendly clothing company(all Organic cotton, Organic Hemp, and recycled Polyester) and wanted to have a car I could be proud to drive to meetings in. Looks like ill have to buy that dreaded prius for those events...
