If the federal gov. didn't influence state gov. in matters of transportation for example, how the hell would you take a road trip from Florida to Colorado? If you left it up to each state for something like that we would be screwed. State gov. works as well as the federal one, which isn't great. That being said when was the last time a general population was 100% satisfied in their governments level of performance.

I agree, look at Texas, without all the burden from the feds they would be doing even better. Of course, then you move over to California and they would just be screwed, telling cali to balance their budget is like telling the sky not to be blue. Just goes to show, the way you chose to run a state can make or break the economic situation of that particular state.

No, that has nothing to do with it, its just a fact that Texas is in the best economic state currently. You'd think we would take note at what they are doing, but nothing is that easy right?

republican, democrat, gay, straight, doesnt matter, some people just suck at life no matter what clothes you put on them...

if you put a monkey in a suit everyone will go awww look at the cute little monkey, but it will inevitably crap in its own hand and throw it at someone, its in their nature...

much like being completely out of touch with society is for politicians...

I don't have a problem with civil unions. I don't think it should be classified as marriage, due to the same points Cam made. Traditional.

I do have a problem with gay people screaming about being treated differently, when some of them prance about pretty much pointing out "Look at me! I'm different!"

The resident manager of my apartment complex is gay. No stickers on his car, no flag outside his house, he just acts like a normal person. And that's what I like about him.

Act like a normal person, get treated like a normal person. Simple as that.
