Next Rover

There is this amazing Range Rover Classic down the road from me. Its Dark blue with a black (or very dark blue) hood blackout. Looks like whoever owned it first took amazing care of it. The guy selling it restores old land rovers and he has about 7 series rovers right now, a couple DI's (one is a manual), one defender and Two RRC's. Anyways, my next LR would be an RRC as well, or if money grew on trees, a defender.
(I'll take some pics of that RRC one day and post them, you'll love it.)

I really like the RRCs but think I would prefer a P38. The LR3s are nice too but I worry about how computer controlled they are. Let's face it, electronics is not LR's strong point. There's a 1960-something Series for sale here in Denver. I talked to the owners one day and they were telling me it had been completely restored and was appraised at over $23000. They were asking $14000 for it. It was nice but for $14000 it needed too much work.
My dream Rover is a diesel 110. When I win the Powerball lottery I'll start shopping for one.

My next Rover will probably be a 2006 RR Sport as a daily driver, then relegating my Disco to be primarily a weekend and off-road vehicle. I NEED one of those in Vesuvius Orange... If I'm not mistaken, there are only 200 of that color in the US.
Here it is... eye candy!
P38's are nice trucks, and I thought it'd be really cool to have a P38 trail rig, but everyone I know with any first-hand experience says they make our Discos look as reliable as Toyota's in comparison. The local LR dealer has a Holland & Holland P38 as their trail rig, and have spent 20k in the last 3 years to keep it on the road. Admittedly, that's 20k at dealer pricing, but that truck doesn't see all that much use to have required so much maintenance and repairs!

I have driven a RR Sport..off road, when it launched in the US a friend and I drove to Chicago and we got to drive it off road on a course they had set up, pretty nice truck, and talk about *****!!!
I almost bought a P-38 before I bought my DI, but it had electrical gremlins, the computer kept saying that the sunroof was open, drivers door was ajar and that the muffler bearing was bad.
So I passed on it, it was a really nice truck, less miles than my DI and less money but it needed to much work.
I really like the tailgate set up though.
