Default Off Roading Near Raleigh, NC any ideas

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good places to go around Raleigh, I'm not looking for anything extremely challenging but I want to put my 03 Disco and it's new 2" RTE lift to work and see how it does. Never been out with the truck yet only been out down in Florida with some family back when it was still stock. From what i've seen on some other sites is the only place close by is around Western Carolina University. Any info would be much appreciated.

Uwharrie national forest. Its under 2 hours from you and its a great place to do some trail riding. If you really want to have some fun, come to the Uwharrie Safari this weekend! There will be tons of rover owners there, (including myself) and we will have all levels of drivers there.

Hey Zack,
I went to a place in Garner a few months ago...When I get my truck back, I'll look up the GPS coordinates for you. There's also a few power line runs in the North Raleigh/Durham area that I used to ride motorcycles on...probably would be good fun to 4 wheel on, if you can still get to them. One is over by At&t off of Chin Page Road in RTP, and the other is off highway 70 close to the Raleigh/Durham border. PM me if you want to try and hit them some time.

Default off roading

Hey everyone, I am new to Raleigh as well. Looking for a few people that would like to hit these 2 places. I have been to both by myself, always more fun with others! I dont have a land rover, but I have a cherokee limited. I live minutes away from both these places. Email or call or text. 319-431-6363. thanks!

Reviving this thread to see if anyone is interested in getting together for some wheeling. I am new to Raleigh area (actually Goldsboro) and would like to get out on some trails locally. I went to Uwharrie for URE 9 and had a blast, but would like to find something more local.

Anyone?

Some rover guys in the Raleigh area are headed to the beach area near Carolina Beach for the holiday weekend near Wilmington. I cannot remember the beach name, but they are camping and driving on the beach.
