Default Rover to the rescue...

...once again.
My 19 yr old son took his 1/2 ton Chevy short bed extended cab 4x2 off roading at a construction site.
In the dark.
He broke through some ice and buried it to the axle.

I locked the Disco in lo, had him put his truck in neutral and gave it 4 good yanks and she popped right out.

That makes 5 cars towed, 1 mini van towed, 2 recovered and 7 jump starts total thus far.

Not even a year of ownership, and 5 rescues. 4 cars and 1 3/4 ton dually 4WD truck with a two axle 5th wheel trailer that was sunk in the muckfields up to its axles here in Hudsonville. I have two two straps and a D-ring reciever for yanking out my neighbors.
By the way--you can fit a full size 2 stage snowblower in the back of your Disco with the rear seats folded up so you can clear your brother's driveway who lives on the other side of the city (ask me how I know).

Not quite a Rover story but I recovered a Dakota with a snowplow on it from a ditch using my Super Duty. The slow gradual pull method wouldn't work since you could play ice hockey on the road. So I got some slack in the tow strap and gave it a good tug. The rear end of the Dakota came off the ground and the truck literally jumped out of the ditch. And I straightened the Dakota's rear bumper.

BTW, I really miss my Rover. I really wish I didn't have to sell it. But I'll have another some day, hoping that day will be soon/
