My one year old reman GM power steering pump failed - no dramatics, no noise, just stopped pumping. Fortunately there's a lifetime warranty, so no worries getting another one. It's just annoying that it lasted only one year (and three weeks). We'll see how long this next one lasts. Maybe I'll go back to a genuine one if this one goes early.

Yesterday and today: helped a neighbor troubleshoot a no start condition on his 1978 Ford something-or-other. Replace shorted starter and solenoid, repair and/or replace damaged original wires for starter, alternator, and voltage regulator.

Sweet! What year? And what are your plans with it? Resto? Resto-mod?

Replaced the steering damper, did the D2 to D1 wiper swap (totally worth it), and tomorrow I'm replacing the top part of the coolant hoses (the part with the T and bleed screw in it).
