Default WI/IL LR owners sound off!

I'm new here looking to secure my first LR. I've noticed there are a lot of WI/Northern IL owners here! I'm in Williams Bay, WI so it's nice to know when I get my LR there are plenty of LR owners around to ride with!

Where do you guys go for LR work? Any reliable mechanics in the area?

I was looking for a "regional" section to post this in (coming from advrider.com), but I couldn't find that section, so here I am.

Hey Fish - nice to meet you. Where do you take your LR? Or do you do your own maintenance?

Madison, wi here. I've got a 98 d1 and so far it's been pretty easy to work on myself. But really no major repairs yet. Knock on wood

Unless you like plowing or intend on making money by plowing I wouldn't. Plowing is a lot of wear and tear on a vehicle.
Besides, you shouldn't need to plow with a Rover, just drive through it!!

I had to drive back from Brookfield, WI Monday. I left there at 2:30pm and the roads were awful. IDK if they were waiting till it completely stopped snowing to start plowing or what, but it didn't seem like they were touched. This coming from a municipal guy who has plowed for the last 17 years.
Took me 2-1/2 hours to make the 1hr trip home. I was in our van and had really wished I brought the Rover.

Plowing is fun. I used my disco several times to pull cars into the shop. That disco even with crap tires is a tank in the snow. My odyssey...not so much
