Zenith Carb replacement
I have a ’69 Series IIA which I use on my farm nearly every day, particularly in the spring and fall. It has the original Zenith 361v carb that I rebuilt probably 10 years ago. The throttle shaft holes are now worn and I suspect the top and bottom halves of the carb body are warped as this is a common problem with these carbs.
A brand new replacement reproduction Zenith is offered by Rovers North at a very reasonable $126.75. I figured I would just order a replacement, but before I do I was wondering if anyone has had personal experience with these replacement carbs? I’m always leery of reproduction parts as everything is now made in China, particularly with something requiring relatively careful tolerances such as a carburetor.
Alternatively, does anyone have a useable / rebuildable original 361v they would sell me? With fall coming, I can't afford to have my truck "down" for a period of time while I deal with the machining involved in order to re-bush the throttle shaft holes.
Thanks,
Bob
