Default '05 Differential Issue

Hi Everyone,

First time poster. I have an 05 LR3 with the V8 and I've been getting a whine at about 60km/hr. An independent shop said it was driver front wheel bearing, they replaced it and the sound is still there. They then said the front diff needs replacing for just under $3K. Took it to local LR dealer and they said it is definitely the rear diff and it needs to be replaced for $5800! Anyone know of rebuilt diffs in Canada or the USA (that ships to Canada)? I heard there was a company out of Texas at one point.

Regards,

Arby

Email Todd, he is the guy in Texas.

ttredeau@gmail.com

diffs have paint inside the case that flakes off and contaminates the bearings.

Thanks Abran, do you know if he is affiliated with Centurion Differentials? They seem to be part of British 4x4 Centre. Do you know if rebuild kits (bearings etc.) are readily available as I may be able to get a local diff shop to rebuild mine? Thanks again.

Regards,

Arby

I believe he has taken over the business from Centurian. Kits for the front diff are available, but only the bearings, seals, and crush sleeve. In that case you re use you ring and pinion.

For the rear they have new ring and pinion. Email him, nice guy, great to do business with.

This is a web address Todd sent me back in March. It's for the company selling the diff parts Differential Parts USA - Home.

I've not looked at mine yet but hope to get at it during the summer.
