I took Tricky Dick up to the mountains for some play time in the snow and mud.

While there were some folks contemplating going up a logging road that was layered in a fair amount of snow, Tricky Dick blasted by them (ok had to make a few runs with the crowd cheering)

Then I found a mud hole on the way down and had to put on my Dirt Fish rally hat.

Still trying to break something and no luck so far

Passed TX state inspection...FINALLY! After replacing all O2 sensors, MAF, leak detection pump it took roughly 262mi. to get it to pass. I had 3 not readies. I did do a drive cycle at around 230mi since I got fed up. During the cycle I got a pending P0327. At that time my engine was still ticking loudly as well. Now it's very smooth. I'm not sure if getting it out and doing those hard accelerations for the cycle did it or a combo of everything done to it. Pending code cleared also. Maybe I shouldn't have ordered those knock sensors...

Said goodbye to my '03 D2. 124k miles and it got hit in the passenger's side. $5k obvious damage and I know the impact included a whack to the right front wheel, so probably more damage to the drivetrain.

In any case, I took State Farm's offer and they picked up the truck.

Now, it's just the '08 Rangie.

Today I took the first test drive following the rebuild. Everything went very well considering how much crap I replaced. Brakes are a little soft, steering wheel isn't center, and my idle temps are hitting 210 on a 50 degree day. Hmmm. Maybe there's a little air left... I hope so since everything else is brand new.

Took a little ride in me d2 down to debuque just to get out of the house. Had a slight issue with the brake light switch. Some disassembly and cleaning of the switch and I was back on the road. 200mi and still have a half tank! Not a bad day

The seems right for a brand new cooling system running the OE thermostat on the 4.0 engine.

My '04 with the 4.6 would regularly get to 210 at idle with the 180 degree genuine TD5 thermostat.

I'm intrigued by your build. Does your dog guard fold down? After having the rear window on my D2 broken and stuff stolen 2 years ago, i'm going to put the window guards and dog guard in to protect the fridge and my other expensive items.
