My truck came from New Mexico and the hood and roof are baked. Fortunately, I bought a 2003 Disco 2 parts truck in the same color that had a perfect hood. It also had perfect working sunroofs with intake drains. Over the weekend I removed the headliner, removed the original non-working sunroofs and replaced them with the working ones out of the parts truck. I also replaced the front passengers window regulator as that wasn't working. Again, the donor truck's was working perfectly.
Removed the transmission and transfer case because of suspected cracked flex plate. Suspicion confirmed.
Going to replace TC seal, rear main, oil pan gasket, u joints, guibo etc. while I'm in there. What is wrong with this picture? About to replace the torque converter seal, which was leaking profusely.
Be sure to check the rear cam plug for leaking. Much more common for that to be leaking than the rear main. The rear main basically cannot leak as explained in one of my post. The crucifix seals can leak, so if you want to stop leaking at the block rear look at those but the rear main never leaks basically. I am guessing your transmission input seal was leaking because the broken flex plate allowed the torque converter to flex so far off center. Someone makes a reinforced flex plate, forget who it is.

Getting a parts truck was about the best thing I did to keep my daily driver going. SO nice to have backups.

Yes the TC seal has been replaced. It was gushing fluid, but thought it'd be a good time for the rear main as I had it all apart. Also oil pan gasket while I'm scratching her belly. I'll check the cam plug. Any other tips?
2001 LE model. it has 117,326 miles on it. apparently has a unique interior according to the Facebook people. Need to address the 3 amigos, a cat converter heat shield rattle and rear blinker housings. It does have some aftermarket eBay steel bumpers that have been Raptor coated and an aftermarket Boss carplay stereo with a floating 9 inch screen. Other than that, the engine is super clean. The radiator and hoses look new-ish. The plug wires look newer. There was a previous owner out there that really loved this truck. The guy I bought it from only had it since January and did nothing with it except let it sit. I will let my daughter have it in November when she gets her license but until then, its something to tinker on.
