Talking Genuine brake rotors and pads for cheap from John Craddock ltd ($222.89)

4/14/17 Correction: The actual cost for a Genuine complete brake rebuild kit from John Craddock shipped to New Hampshire is $634.10, still cheaper compared to domestic supplers of the same Genuine parts. I accidentally ordered Britpart rotors due to a mix-up with part numbers. My apologies.

Today I submitted another order with John Craddock and saved $163.12- $388.01!

- SDB000380: Britpart front disk rotors x 2 = $41.11 for the pair

- SDB000470: Britpart rear disk rotors x2 = $32.37 for the pair

- SFP500150GEN: Genuine front pads = $57.12

- SFP500130GEN: Genuine rear pads = $84.74

Grand total shipped from England to New Hampshire:
$222.89 after exchange rate! The same part numbers shipped from Atlantic British totals $385.95. Same part numbers shipped from Rovers North totals $610.90 + shipping.

John Craddock typically ships out orders fast so you can expect them in a week unless the parts are out of stock or specially ordered. One of my buddies here in NH recently purchased a Mantec air intake for his D2 ($206.66 plus shipping) from Craddock and got his in under 5 days! Excellent company to do business with and the savings are well worth the extra few days you have to wait for your order.

Anyone interested in purchasing genuine Land Rover parts for cheap should give John Craddock a try. I find it easier to contact Craddock via email (Ask for Donna Morrow donna@johncraddockltd.co.uk) and have your part numbers handy to speed up things. Their website needs some work but is still functional.

I do not receive any benefits for praising John Craddock BUT I love saving alot of money when I order replacement Genuine parts for my aging D2. Wanted to spread the word and help the folks here out by letting everyone know their is an alternative to expensive domestic suppliers of LR parts.

Plot twist, the cost from Land Rover of those rotors from Rover is more than what you paid, so they're not going to be genuine.

They do however sell the genuine ones here. - https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/la...2-genuine.html

Same goes for the rear -

So you can use those links if you'd actually prefer the genuine parts!

1)Be honest and post up the invoice with the shipping costs. They aren't giving you free shipping across the ocean for something near 100lbs that only sold for $220.

2) Building that same kit @ Lucky 8 is $241/shipped. So, good job losing people money by telling them to shop in the UK.

Buying rotors, pads, and calipers from the U.K. Is silly. Some things do make sense to order across the pond.. but definitely not those. And going for genuine is just confoundingly silly

To clarify on my first post. There is some confusion regarding the part number for the rear rotors I ordered... which is why I included a "?" in the description for the rear rotors in my first post. Nothing dishonest about that. SDB000470 seems to be shared across a range of different manufacturer makers for the rear rotor as seen on the LRdirect website: https://www.lrdirect.com/SDB000470-B...c-New-Rr-Rear/. Delphi, Britpart, Land Rover, Allmakes all use the same part number save a variation of letters on the end. It also appears that parts numbers sometimes get superseded by new part numbers thus adding to the confusing when searching for the right rotor. As it stands the rear rotors I ordered do not include any additional letters on the end of the SDB000470 part number so Im not sure if they are Genuine or some other make.

prepare for the price comparison test:

Rovers North:
- Genuine Front Pads SFP500150 $84.95
- Genuine Rear Pads SFP500130 $ 129.95
- Genuine Front Rotor SDB000380 $ 99.50 per disk
- Genuine Rear Rotor SDB000470 $98.50 per disk

Total excluding shipping: $610.90

Lucky8 LLC:
- Genuine? (Mintex: same part#) Front Pads SFP500150 $60.00
- Genuine? (Mintex: same part#) Rear Pads SFP500130 $ 28.00
- Genuine? (Unknown make: same part#) Front Rotor SDB000380 $ 26.00 per disk
- Genuine? (Unknown make: same part#) Rear Rotor SDB000470 $22.00 per disk

Total excluding shipping: $184.00

John Craddock Ltd:
- Genuine Front Pads SFP500150 £45.84 converted = $57.44
- Genuine Rear Pads SFP500130 £68.01 converted = $85.23
- Genuine Front Rotor SDB000380 £61.25 converted = $76.76 per disk
- Genuine Rear Rotor SDB000470 £58.50 converted = $73.31 per disk

Total excluding shipping: $442.81

Here is a copy of my invoice from John Craddock. £172.83 for the pads and rotors converted to USD = $216.70. I paid using Paypal and the final total was $222.89 shipped.

Default Why Genuine parts? Why across the pond?

Why Genuine:
Over the years I've replaced alot of parts on my truck with cheap aftermarket makes with less than satisfactory results. Proline is complete garbage. This year I decided to switch to Genuine parts when possible for piece of mind and guaranteed fitment and longevity.

Why I now buy brakes from England:
Because a complete brake rebuild kit from local parts stores like Autozone are more expensive than the cost for a Genuine brake rebuild kit shipped from England to my door. Genuine parts also appear to retail for less in the UK than in the US. Factor in the state of the UK pond and the savings quickly add up vs buying from domestic suppliers. Same is true for professionally re-manufactured top hat lined engines.

The rotors you ordered are most likely the same supplier as the Proline ones, FYI.
