What did you do with your DII today?

The nice thing about gutting all the plastic trim and headliner is it opens a world of possibilities to mount things. I don't know what I want to mount yet, but I installed about 34 rivet nuts into the factory drilled holes. Probably going to add a few eyelet bolts and a cargo net or two
It looks good jeff. I'm still waiting to see what idea you make for the headliner or are you gonna attempt anything like you thought about earlier. I plan on getting the window guards and possibly stripping the plastic pieces down and modifying to my specs. Just haven't figured out when to do yet.

Honestly, I'm pretty cool with it as is. It's a camping/offroad/overland/beach rig. Maybe someday, but not in a rush. I've removed literally every piece of plastic trim (including pillars & seats) except for the a-pillar, which I painted dark grey (from beige).
I have a few tasteful additions on the todo list... false floor w/ l-track's, steel grab handles, wire runners to hide cables, cargo net or two, roof console
I don't see any point in covering the roof in aluminum, it'll look just the same as it does now, but with scratchable paint. I like this King Starboard stuff I've been working with, maybe I will end up using that for the roof.

Well keep the photos coming man. It's been giving me ideas. I'm still working on making mine a 5 seater from a 7 seater. Still getting some stuff powdercoated like the cross members and such. The guy that does my powdercoating is getting a new set up that does chrome on anything including plastic and can be tinted to any color you want. Giving me some ideas.

Granted...
I had a few parts left over.
But, she ran fine and we went on a couple test drives to get anti-freeze level done.
Engine by evening light, instead of florescent bulbs.
Hurray, an empty bay in the garage.
Thanks, guys...for the kind words. Yes, the last lap was the longest...but once you make that final corner...it's cruise control to the finish.
Brian.
