Default Positive battery terminal replacement

My positive battery terminal doesn't grip tightly. I know I can put a shim under it.

I plan on replacing the terminal. Will the following work?

Amazon Amazon

I think the two wires are 0 gauge.

Thanks

Not a fan of screw-type terminals. Crimping is 1000x better. The screws will work loose and allow moisture & corrosion build up which will wick down the cable and be bad news bears.

Go with something like this:
Amazon Amazon

And use copper lugs. A hydraulic crimper is about $45 on amazon.

Thanks for the advice Jeff. Will our positive cables fit in the 2 gauge lugs in that kit you posted?

No, you need either 1 gauge or 1/0 gauge lugs, I can't remember which

I don't understand you want to go to all the extra work to change terminals. I have shimmed mine off and on over the years with different materials, ranging from a toothpick to a small screw driven down in between the terminal in the post (into a pre-drilled hole).

I was surprised two days ago, however, that when I replaced the battery the posts were apparently just enough larger that no shim was required. The factory terminals tightened down to be quite snug.

I could think of half a dozen reasons... but to each their own
And it's hardly 'that much work' at all. Snip, crimp, shrink, done.

Jeff, that's a nice looking battery setup. Are there details or maybe a writeup on that floating around somewhere?

I made a thread over at expedition portal, but it's not that thorough.
