It should be possible to simply wire a white LED into that holder.
I have not been impressed with LED instrument backlighting though. Every vehicle I've tried it on I have switched back to incandescent so I could actually read the gauges.

I went to Pull-A-Part in Norcross, GA to scavange parts off of a trashed '97 Disco for my '01 Disco.
I got there and the Disco was totally ravaged. Luckily I got the 3 windshield wiper arms and the transmission fluid dip stick. The transmission pan was already gone but the dipstick was still there and I found out why. It was a pain to get the 9/16" mount bolt off with polish sausage fingers but i got it removed and it cost me $3 at check out.
Now I need a Disco I transmission pan to go with the tranny dip stick.

Today I spent hours under my D2 trying to coax my front driveshaft loose. I've managed to disconnect it from the TC, but it keeps trying to strip out the nuts attaching it to the diff... Since we are well after midnight I'll try again in the morning.
