Good news, Power Steering Pump replaced and working. Bad news, ACE pump caught fire.
So I sweated my weekend away in order to replace my Power Steering pump. Finally got it all wrapped up and on it's maiden voyage I hear a weird noise coming from under the hood. So I head back to my driveway and pop the hood to try and identify where the noise is coming from.
My ACE pump looks like it's surrounded by the flame guys from labyrinth.
So I yell at my wife to turn it off, which she does quickly and then she dashes into the house to get a fire extinguisher. I just grabbed a bucket of soapy water that I planned on using to wash my car with and dumped it on the engine.
So now I'm kind of SOL. Abran doesn't have an ACE for sale and everywhere else I've looked is in the $400+ range. Any ideas?
Edit, forgot to mention, the engine bay was liberally sprayed with Power Steering/ACE fluid... It was kind of impressive.

Yeah, I checked that last night. I must have just run it dry prior to replacing the PS pump. I didn't know it was that delicate.
