Default D2 New part development sanity check

OK, We have already started throwing money at this project and are close to committing to a hefty mold charge, but wanted the communities feedback before the final plunge.

D2 intake tube from fender elbow to air box. This will come in a professionally packaged box with a self adhesive sticky back gasket for the elbow to fender contact point as well as 2 cable ties with a valley molded at the ends to accept the cable ties.

This will be a high quality part made of the same EPDM/PP blend that the intake tube from MAF to throttle body is made of. And will make that section of intake completely waterproof. 2 year warranty and all that good stuff.

Because of the hefty mold charge, development fees, etc. the retail price will be right around $45-$50.

Im well aware of duct tape, gum, flex seal, options but personally would like this on my rig.

Thoughts?

YES Please, I need one of these!! My 04' D2 is completely disintegrated. I'd be happy to purchase one early and review!

Not to try and deduct from your idea, but you can also just buy a silicon intake coupler in the correct size. They're round, but it's silicon so it will take whatever shape you need. In this case oval. That would be about a $15 fix.

Just an idea to throw out there.

Looks like a quality-type remedy, with a factory look...for a no longer available part. Price seems okay, too. Good luck, in your endeavor.

Brian.

I would be in for one.

I am sure you have already thought of this but worldpac is where I purchase many of the shop items from. They are an excellent option to reach your general repair shops that may not be familiar with the rover specialty sources. I have sold product to them in the past and they may be interested in stocking this item.
