Picked up a nice cb radio and antenna the radio will fit inside the pocket above drivers head the antenna has a strong magnet question is how do you guys prefer to run the wire ? Did you drill a hole on the roof ?
Looking for ideas
I ran out out the backdoor to my roof rack, but I run VHF and have a very thin coax type cable. I prefer not to add more places for water to get in so no roof drilling for me. But I am in the Pacific Northwest so basically 6 months or so of rain.
I got to this today. Radio plugs into my cig lighter socket radio fits on top compartment above drivers head wires tuck in easily along the door windshield
antenna I also ran along headliner out back door to roof where I have a 36 inch long antenna magnet mount
so far I have no great reception just some guy talking on channel 6

The antenna mounted is attached to the rack with 2 muffler clamps and an old bracket from a network rack. The wire is sort of tacked to the roof with your basic clear silicone, and then paper clip to keep it in tight to the disco as it turns to go in the door. I need something better there but that works.
Antenna mount
The radio is mounted in the upper left rear upper window, it has a remote head unit. The wiring is messy but runs down along the the left rear seat and under the rubber floor mats for the mike and head control. The power goes the same route then under the sills to the driver side firewall.
Radio mount
The head unit is mounted to a spare ashtray I grabbed from a wrecker, the wire in the passenger side foot well is the connection for the GPS that goes to the radio for APRS - sends my position over VHF, if it can reach a gateway.
I was abbout to say, holy hell wires! Then I remembered all my trucks wiring is visible with the headliner and trim gone... so I'm not the one the judge
For mine I did an NMO mount attached to the roof rack, and a hole drilled in the roof, used a cable gland to make sure no water gets in. CB and 2 meter
