Default Disco 1 Exhaust Question

Hey i ahve a 96 disco 1 with the borla exhaust system. I got it out of a wrecked disco 1 and got it for $20. I am wondering if I take the center muffler off (the borla muffler) and replace it with a straight pipe, will having a straight through exhaust mess up anything in the engine? How much back pressure is needed? Thanks

I am 90%, ok 60% sure that you can run it straight pipe and not mess anything up. As long as the cats and O2's are working you should be good to go. If you remove the cats and O2's to try and get more power you will only waste gas.
Still trying to get more HP out of her huh?

yea and make it sound better, even though i got the borla exhaust for $20, I cant believe that people would pay the $600+ for it. It sounds good but it is the same db (voulme) as the stock unit.
