I'd guess the numbers were somewhere along the lines of 1200 in '94, 1500 in '95, 1200 in '96 and 1000 in '97. I don't believe they did any 5 speeds in '98 or '99.

I would venture a guess that there might have been 14,000 5 speeds imported overall into the US but I think even that number is high. I remember seeing total imports by year for the DI a number of years ago. Imports of all DI's automatics and 5 speeds were over 20,000 for a few years but automatics outnumbered 5 speeds by over ten to one. The first two years, '94 and '95 saw the largest number, as a percentage of total imports, of 5 speeds brought over but, even then numbers were no where near 14,000/yr.
