I'd guess the numbers were somewhere along the lines of 1200 in '94, 1500 in '95, 1200 in '96 and 1000 in '97. I don't believe they did any 5 speeds in '98 or '99.
How much do you get for an r380?

I don't have any. The two I have in storage are a customer's. I'm merely holding them for him.

The R380 I sold had the T case with shifter, flywheel, Peddle assembly, Slave and master cylinder with it. I sold the whole package for $1000.

Not sure if that is the going rate or not.

I'll take one at that price if you find another one.. About to order the rebuild kit and attempt it myself which means I'll probably need a new r380 soon

My buddy picked up a non-running one with a lift and 33s for $500. One fuel pump later it ran great, threw new bearings/seals/brakes on it in the fall and I'm heading over there after work today to rip the carpet out and asses the rust and whatever else it needs before wheeling season.

I remember seeing total imports by year for the DI a number of years ago. Imports of all DI's automatics and 5 speeds were over 20,000 for a few years but automatics outnumbered 5 speeds by over ten to one. The first two years, '94 and '95 saw the largest number, as a percentage of total imports, of 5 speeds brought over but, even then numbers were no where near 14,000/yr.
It was so long ago, I couldn't recall the numbers, but that sounds correct. I may have been mistaken, but I know r380 Discovery 1's are rare.

A D1 collectable, maybe in another 20 years if you are lucky or have a Camel Trophy model.
