Default PLease Help Range Rover will not start
Hi guys,

I just bought a 98 Range Rover SE 4.0L. I am having a problem with starting it. It turns over normal and gets fire to the plugs but will not crank. Can this be the crank position sensor if I am getting fire to the plugs?

Fuel pump seems to come on for a few seconds when turn the key to the on position. The only messages that come up on the dash are "windows not set".

possible, just make sure their is power past the the inertia switch on the lower passenger side trim.

I just checked the oil and theres water mixing with it. Blown head gasket? Would that cause it not to run?

yes a blown headgasket would let water into the cylinder i hope that you didnt try to start it in this condition as you might bend a rod and thus a new good used engine would be the recipe for repair

Well, I did try to crank it a few times before I realized I had water in the oil. The engine was turning over a little slower than normal. I guess that maybe why it never tried to fire up??? I'm going to hopefully tear it down this weekend and see what is going on. i have ordered a new head gasket kit for it.
