Default Should I but the RRS?

Hi All,

Got an offer today - 2011 RRS, TDV6. Silver. BUT - its the 6 speed automatic with the weaker diesel engine - 245HP. The 2012 model will have 8 speed auto with 255HP. Price knocked down by the dealer. New ones will be much more expensive the dealer said.

Should I go for it? is the difference that big?

Thanks!!
A.

I would go 2012. I feel like if you get the 11 you are always going to wish you had spent the extra $ and gotten the 12 with the better engine and trans.

More than you or I care to spend. I was at the dealership the other day and noticed the full sized RR SC was 102k new. I would rather go buy an airplane...

That's over fifty Discovery 1's at the price I paid for mine. Of course, the dealer charges the same fees to work on either truck.....

all depends on the package of the 11. If the eight speed tranny is the only addition to the model then don't waste the time. Its not like an eight speed isn't bad. its quite good. I have driven the six speed six cyl diesels and they are nice but after driving a VW turareg with a six cyl eight speed transmission its like night and day.

the two extra gears makes a 6 cyl diesel drive like a eight cylinder petrol.
