All the items I outlined and a multi-point inspection. I was there a week or two back getting a little glug of coolant top up and got a breakdown of the items and fees. The multi-point is obviously something I can't do myself but I'll be getting it in the dealer at some point for a recall item and they can give it the once over then. Usually that's gratis with any dealer visit. Maybe they'd have given it a bit of a wash too. I don't know.

But yes. $850 plus tax for the items I listed minus the multi-point. Maybe there's more to it than that but nothing else was listed. Labor costs are high here in my neck of the woods.

Sorry for being a moron, @GavinC . Spotted that in the photos after I posted that earlier. Appreciate you re-adding it yesterday. Mine's a MY22 also. When I used the link, it threw a note that they "don't fit" because it's for MY20. I think we're all good. For some crazy reason, JLR has a much harder time with on-line part # matches.

No worries mate. Easier to find in the future in any event.

Yes. Pretty much any and all parts wont fit the MY22 on their site. Plug in the MY20 and all is well. They did email me after I placed the order to let me know the parts were not gelling with my VIN and I explained the situation. They shipped the parts. No changes in filters from one year to the next. The cabin air filter looked a little different with one side being blue but that may be simply because it fades over time. Otherwise all identical.

My local dealer, when I asked for a quote on filters for the MY22 gave the same part numbers but wanted double the price for the air cabin filter as it was a "special order" item that would be shipped form the exotic shores of California. Ordering direct from there dropped the cost considerably. Lots of cheaper non-OEM options for the cabin air filter but I like to stick with OEM.

Yes. First oil change. I know many will view 16k and 1 year as too early. Others will say too late.

My dealer was going to set up a 1 year service for the items listed. User guide is 21k and 2 years but with all the cotton wood pollen and dusty tracks, a set of new filters is probably no bad thing. The engine filter looked very clean. Cabin, not so much. Oil looked inky black. (Very scientific analysis I know)

Ya I have been doing it every 5-7k(they said 21k was insane) but my local place charges $250 for just an oil change and its the first car let alone Defender I have owned so don't want to take any chances, especially with the miles I am putting on it.

Lots of differing views and opinions on service intervals out there. I'm really grossly under qualified and inexperienced to contribute anything of value to the debate. $250 for oil and filter seems fair enough.

Thank you for the great walk through. Getting the LR oil is a pain for me.

I see that a lot of people are using the Liqui Moly Special Tec LR oil which meets 5122. When I go to the Liqui Moly site it recommends the Top Tec 6600 or 6610 which meet the 5006 spec. I think the manual shows the 5006 spec as required. Is the 5122 spec the same?

The spec was updated since the release of the Defender. The oil I used meets or exceeds the most up to date JLR requirements.

The post below links the oil I used and the JLR badged Castrol if you prefer. Same specs at about double the cost.

Thank you Gavin. It looks like there are more 5122 oils out there than the 5006 spec.
