Default 2021 Defender P300 DTC P0196

Hello! Reaching out in regards to an intermittent CEL I have on my 2021 Defender 110 P300 S. Getting code P0196 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor "A" Range/Performance. It's come on for the 3rd time now at 66k. The first time it came on and went away pretty fast, second time it came on so I checked all the wiring I could then cleared the code and it didn't come back for about ~8k so assumed maybe a loose wire. Now it's back and I'm looking for a bit more detail. Service manual says to check connections or "Install a new oil level and temperature sensor, only when diagnosed as failed." Problem is, the manual has zero mention of an oil level and temperature sensor or where it might be. Cannot find one in any parts catalogs or anything. I found the CVVT Oil Temperature Sensor, and then there's the Oil Pressure Switch (also called Oil Pressure and Temp Sensor in the manual) that's on the oil filter housing, but no mention of a PN or replacing it in the manual. I doubt it's the CVVT specific sensor, and the one on the housing just comes back as an Oil Pressure Switch in parts catalogs. I don't want to spend $80 on a sensor and not have it be the right one. Has anyone else had this code and fixed it, or could anyone point me towards what might actually be the oil temp sensor? Appreciate any help!

Here you can find the part number for the one on the oil filter housing: https://landrover.scuderiacarparts.c...484/4859/90934

Before you buy any sensors, check the oil pressure/temperature sensor connector at the oil filter housing. Also check the harness where it passes near the engine mount and front cover. Make sure there is no oil saturation in the connector or any bent terminals.
