Glad to hear it. I had been going with internet photos, not the CGI rendering in the 2021 configurator, because I've never found those to be faithful when it gets down to shades and finishes of paints and trim items. The photos I saw showed the walnut as lighter, pinkish orange, so I originally ordered the smoked oak. Then I went back to the dealer and he found the sample woods and showed me both, and I loved the rough-cut walnut. Looked just like the CGI rendering, a rich medium brown with lots of texturing from the rough-cut process. So I changed to that.

Here's the photo:

And the configurator:

And here's the configurator, which the dealer sample looks just like:

I had to look up presbyopia --- yes, I definitely have it. Even so, I am 100% using the clearview mirror on camera setting, since I attached my recovery boards to my rear tire, which I use as necessary. No roof rack for me -- too noisy.

My understanding of what's in the screen has improved slightly (I think) through the repetition, though I still see the auto's behind as colored vehicles, not able to quickly identify the type. If I'm interested if the vehicle is a mercedes or a Kia, i take off my distance glasses and look a bit harder.

So, it is working well enough.

TrioLR -- also worth noting is that the wood trim package also includes the pull handle on the passenger side door and both rear door pulls. It's not only on the center console. It's a really nice package, and I'm glad I saw one at the dealer before ordering.

Then again.. I suspect in another year or so there will be some nice aftermarket "dress-up" bolt-on wood kits available as alternative options.

My dealer got back with me today. Looks like they started a completely new order for the switch from an HSE to an XS model. Not sure where that puts things from a timeline perspective, but the larger issue is that they are saying the air suspension is not standard on the XS.

I provided a link to the official landrover press release for the us showing it says the XS comes standard with air suspension. Sales rep replied that there is a lot of misinformation out there on non land rover websites . He said they were able to add air suspension to the ordering tool so that showed them it was not standard.

The current order guide shows you cannot option the air suspension. Between that and the freaken official press release contradicting what they said, I am sorta at a loss now. Ive never factory ordered a vehicle before and I must say its been pretty annoying process.

Has anyone in Canada placed an order for a V8 Carpathian Edition or heard when this will be available?

I spoke to my local dealer about ordering a V8 Defender 110 today. I was told that they were only given two V8 Defenders from JLR, that production would be extremely limited, and as a result, all V8 Defenders would be sold for $30,000 above sticker. I’m in the Pacific Northwest. Dealer is JLR Bellevue.

Bahnbrenner -- $30K above sticker? Clearly it was a April Fool's day joke -- you should call them again today and find out what the real price is

Has LR clarified if the $1,600 price hike on the 2022 90* base includes any new standard features or are we paying more for the exact same?

Ha, you’re kidding, right? I WISH we were paying more for the exact same. 2022s don’t come with air suspension, which used to be free. Now $1600. There are other things as well. There are also a few that are free now or cheaper that used to be more. Like metallic paint. The fancy one is down from 1600-ish to 1000, and the 700-dollar one is now free. But lots of little bumps in prices for things this year. I compared my 2021 computer build with my actual 2022 order. Lots of little $300 options that are now $500. All told I’m up close to 2 grand on an 80k build, 2022 vs. 2021.

Did the price change on the base? I am trying to contrast via the models page on the LR site and both state $50,500?

Air suspension is now a $1600 option so things did not get cheaper either way.
