Ordering is a wild ride. For example, one of our 2021 Defender 110 SE has the refrigerated console along with the torque vectoring diff, off road tires and a 110V socket as part of the off road package. Go figure how they put that together!

Default MY22 NA build active

The MY22 build is now active for the NA market on LandRover’s site. A few changes with a couple things now standard and a couple things options. Good Luck!

Luckily we knew about the larger screen and the fact that the Clearsight mirror had changed from a standard item to an option, since the dealer didn't even mention those items when they sent back our first updated MY22 build order.

We listed the specific changes we wanted but they kept sending over new slightly modified order sheets that still weren't exactly right, so we ended up putting together a spreadsheet listing all of the specifications we wanted along with all of the corresponding item order codes we could find from the MY2022 price list shared in this forum along with the Canada price list and LR UK website information to fill in the gaps.
Even though they still failed to include the front and rear classic mudflaps and the locking lug nuts we wanted, we weren't that attached to those items and since everything else was finally correct we signed the build order and we have now officially started the wait for a July delivery. For anyone who might want to use this approach to help their order process, I've attached our spec spreadsheet (minus the mudflaps and locking lug nuts).
New Dates:
Last Amendment Possible: 4/14
Build Date: 5/14
Delivery Date: 7/2
Planned Handover: 8/27 (but the dealer said that this was "worst case" and that the handover will most likely be in July)
Did you happen to notice the difference between the X-Dynamic SE and the X-Dynamic HSE for the additional $4,500?

Looks like they got rid of the "woven textile/leather" option and now just have leather?

Seems like a $4500 charge from SE to HSE for Adaptive Cruise Control ($1200), 14 way Heated/Cooled Seats ($?), Different wheels ($200), and Traffic Sign Recognition w/ Adaptive Speed ($?) ? Am I missing something?

I am also comparing builds against the 2021, it seems like they added $900 to the base price but removed Air suspension ($1600) and Clearsight ($450) so overall $2950 change to the build for a 2022. You agree with what I am seeing here?

Not sure about the difference between the X-Dynamic SE and HSE, but now that the US Build and Price functionality is up, I'm kind of upset about the $4500 price difference between my 110 X-Dynamic HSE spec and the XS. I did a side by side comparison of standard features and the options and accessories I chose, and the only real "shortcomings" on the XS appear to be:
  • no HUD option
  • no rear recovery eyes
  • missing dual-color interior seating choices
  • no oyster morzine headlining option
  • no wood trim options
  • lighter silver bumpers and other exterior silver accents (X-D HSE accents are the darker silicon silver)
So after allowing $1570 for the HUD + wood trim it's still around $3000 more for the X-D HSE in my case.
But then it gets worse if you consider some of the other standard XS features that are $$$ options on the X-D HSE that I chose to forego like:
  • Three-zone Climate Control with Rear Cooling Assist
  • Air Quality Sensor
  • Cabin Air Ionization with PM2.5 Filter
  • there may be others
Wonder if I'm missing some huge difference that makes the X-Dynamic HSE actually worth the price discrepancy. I'm getting Santorini black so the body color difference is a moot point for me.
I honestly don't understand why they even have the XS model at all except for the full body color option, but then why is it so much cheaper?

Oh yes, and tomorrow is my final amendment date...

I switched from HSE to XS. It was a 2k price savings for me.

I did not care about the HUD. The rear recovery eyes is frustrating, I don't understand the logic with that. The lack of wood trim is a little annoying, but saves some money. I liked the single color seating and the dark headlining.

Where did you find the information about the accents being a different color then the silicon silver? I was ordering silicon silver color so it all matched. I am hoping what your saying is not accurate .

My dealer said LR would not allow them to amend the order to swap from the HSE to an XS. That was the plan originally and then it came back that they had to create an entirely new order. Per my dealer they could only make changes that the HSE was fitted for.
