This. I had my dealer get me an update few days after the build. They gave me a screenshot of the page where I could see the VIN. My build date was 16/04/2020 .. expecting delivery on 16/07/2020.

Ahh, we're on the same boat then. I ordered my P400 much later than you, on 3/25, but build is 5/7 and delivery is 7/2, in Atlanta.

Its exciting that your build is this Friday! Let us know how quickly a VIN is assigned and how the tracking looks after the build!

My V8 CE dates finally showed up in the system today.

As suspected that original end of July estimated delivery date was inaccurate, as was by the way what the dealer and I were told was the original lock date which was previously shown as April 6th.

New dates are:

1. Lock Date: 6/20/21
2. Build Date: 7/22/21
3. Expected Arrival Date: 9/30/21

Seems reasonable to me for a 22MY, quite frankly I'll be happy if it isn't delayed by several months as has been the case with every other vehicle I ordered over the last year.

The only problem with all of this is that I thought I had the whole spec stress behind me ... now I get to question all my choices for a couple of additional months.

When did you place your order?

April 3rd (allocations were given out to dealers a few days earlier) ... the original lock date in the system at the time of ordering was April 6th.

I locked my V8 order on April 14 so I guess I missed the lock out date. Any idea how long until they snap the line again?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by 'snap the line' in this context ... generally speaking I have no insight as to the inner JLR scheduling workings other than what my SA tells me.

Have you asked your dealer for your latest production dates?

It seems that the original lock dates have been moved and those who thought they couldn't change their spec any more now can.

I mean, if they had a cut off for the initial batch of April 6, what is the cut off for the next batch? My dealer has submitted my order but has no idea when they will get confirmation from the factory. The JLR management approach with Canada seems to be the mushroom model i.e. kept in the dark and fed sh**.
