Also got my allocation today and vehicle ordered. Build date is scheduled for April 6th, build complete date scheduled for May 6th, and delivery by July 1. Ordered from the Boston area. There are a number of dealers in the area - I went with the highest volume dealer and got my allocation fairly quickly. Now if I could stop changing my mind on color…

Does anyone know “a” rate of delivery right now for Defenders?

I’m curious what the real timeframe to wait should be…is it 4-5 months wait, then 4-5 months build time?
We went in and "ordered" ours on October 30th (Houston/Katy)
We literally got a call this morning from our salesman that LR has "accepted" our order and the estimated delivery date is...July 20th. According to him, due to a chip problem they are no longer offering the '23's with the camera in the rearview mirror.
We were certainly told it would come sooner when we ordered, but aren't really surprised.

How often does JLR release allocations for a model? Is it typically quarterly?

Then the line should move fairly quickly! I am used to quarterly, which is rough waiting 3 months for the next round

I could be wrong but that's what I've been seeing on here though there have been some months it seems where none were allocated unfortunately. As this point I just hope I get a car lol!

I believe it is monthly, and allocations are based on the dealerships volume. This info based on what one of the 6 sales reps I have spoken to this year has said. I somewhat believe him based on how much stock his dealer has up-for-sale on autotrader versus other dealerships.

I would suggest to also keep an eye out for canceled orders arriving at dealerships. Some may be exactly what you're looking for. Sure, they might have 1-2 features you want that are missing, but the ordering process also seems to have issues with some folks not getting the features they wanted.
Personally I lost my patience with the ordering process after months of waiting for an allocation, I got super lucky by calling my local dealer out of frustration.. only to find out they had one from a canceled order they just put up for sale. It cost a bit more, but for me I'd rather pay vs HALF a year of waiting and being in limbo, anxiety and more frustration.
