Add me to the list of similar sounding startup noise. Mine sounds a lot like an old diesel until warm. I recently bought my 2020 P400 with 29k miles and I really only noticed the noise when the weather started getting cold. It reminds me a lot of piston slap I had in my Pontiac from 2003. It was a known issue, but I sold it with 200k miles and never missed a beat.

Interesting to know about the oil via PCV that @jaredmonez@gmail.com had. Any extra information to share?

 

So I was able to borrow a demo car from Land Rover dealer and it was basically identical to mine in terms of MY and mileage. I parked it at the exact same spot as my car and tested after letting it park overnight. The sound is exactly the same as on my car. So I guess these engines have a quite high NVH noise until it comes up to temperature.

Yup, that's the noise! Somehow it is a PCV assembly issue...

 

To be fair, this seems like a different noise from what I can tell from what I experienced. My 2025 wasn't making any abnormal noise at startup, only on lite acceleration low rpm 1400-2000 rpm. The knock or rattle sound mine was making was spark knock(detonation) hope that helps!
