Greetings! New to this forum as I am considering leasing a Defender 90 while my son is interested in the Defender 110. Checking our local Ohio JLR dealer, I was informed that the current money factor is at .00393 x 2400 = 9.432% equivalent interest rate. Reading through other posts, it appears that LR historically does not have attractive lease rates. Although the Defender maintains its value (62-63% after 3 years) that low depreciation value does not translate into better lease rates as it does in many other automobiles. The current BMW money factor fwiw is currently at .0022 as a comparison. As others have said in various posts.....it does appear that you "Pay to Play".

Curious as to what other Defender enthusiasts have encountered in terms of money factor rates? One thing for sure..........the Defender is a great looking vehicle and certainly checks all my boxes.. Coming from a current Mini Countryman S All 4 lease that will end May 2024.

 

Sounds like MF has come down significantly. Last summer, Boston area dealers were quoting equivalent of 12%!

if you don’t want to buy, I’d take the rate. LR aren’t going to budge on it OR the residual that it’s calc’d from.

 

I’d buy over lease. They are offering 3.9.
