Default 23.5 MY Wireless charging issues

I understand this was a common conversation on the 21 and 22 MY’s that was remedied by some dealer software updates and refreshes, but haven’t seen any additional threads on it since.

I’m 4 days into a new X-dynamic and am not getting any charge from the console charging pad despite a connection being made and a phone feeling noticeably warm if not borderline hot. I have an iPhone 14 pro max, in a standard apply silicon case.

Car is going back to shop on Monday for final inspection sticking so going to ask what the deal is but wanted to see if anyone else has same issue and/or resolve?

thanks!

Remove your phone case then unlock your phone and try again.

Update

Wireless charging functionality actually started to kick in around the 300 mile mark. I can only think that perhaps the power source dedicated to powering the wireless charge system was low or idle from car being in standby during transit and needed some additional juice to get up to capacity to operate normally. All good now and seems to be working as it should even with the standard apple case w/camera notch!

I've found wireless charging in most vehicles to be terrible. You need to be super exact, and if you're not it just pumps heat into your device. The larger the device physically the worse it is, so like the iPhone Max or the big Google Phones, their 'zone' for charging doesn't fit into the slot in the car.

This has been true for my Polestar 2, my VW ID.4, and the Defender. All of them superheat my phones more than charge them.

Same as Trekkie. I just stick with USB charging. The pad just cooks my phone and gives like 1% charge at best on an hour drive (and using the phone for streaming XM app).
