Awesome, thanks. i really want to avoid poking extra holes in the firewall plus the passenger side grommet looks like a bitch to go through
Definitely no need to hool up directly to the battery. There are multiple grounding studs in the engine bay and you can take the power from the power distribution cable on the passenger side fender well.
@Mcdooogs - I went with the Trigger-4 controller. It uses bluetooth to send signals into the engine bay to turn on/off accessories. No need to run power in/out. EVERYTHING is a compromise, so I'm sure others would rather not have a battery operated solution. But, each their own. Good luck with your route.

That looks like a compromise I may make as well. Do you have a link to the mounting plate for the box in the engine bay that you used?
Wow! I looked at my post history and can't believe I haven't shown more details on this. This weekend when I install my sliders, I'll do a better writeup on everything. For now, I used the following bracket (Link). I dropped it in the space behind the passenger side strut. If you look at this pic I borrowed from a @2oolander post... you'll see he has his winch cut off switch at the upper part of this photo (mine is installed much more towards the front of the vehicle). Anyway, below it is a black stabilizer from the firewall area (upper right) to the passenger strut (?) (lower left). It attaches to that black stabilizer bar and drops nicely into that spot. I'm now considering adding a compressor in there from either @Saltek Motorsports or @sarek and trying to figure which will go in there without bumping into either my cutoff switch for the winch or the Trigger-4 controller. I hope this helps until I can do a proper posting with pics re: how I set up my switches.
