Air intake flap stuck?
I had to cancel part of my trip yesterday because the check engine light came on.
diagnostic showed that the air intake flap was stuck. Fortunately it was in the open position.
This morning the check engine light was still on.
Now, it's off.
Anyone else have this happen?
I redirected to Denver so I was close to a dealer. Have to be in Denver by Monday afternoon for work anyway.
Bummed to cancel my Rimrocker Trail run Ai had planned but didn't want to get stuck 50+ miles from Moab

Which air intake flap?
If it’s just the active grill shutters -there are 2 sets - upper and lower - that doesn’t matter really (although I guess in hot desert conditions it could affect cooling and be an overheating issue)

Yup. You should 100% be able to drive on ok with those disabled. Especially if stuck open. Even if it is throwing a CEL.
If stuck closed I might be concerned because you could overheat.
They close to allow the motor to warm up quicker or maintain higher temperature in extremely (subzero / Arctic type) cold weather. SO it is throwing the CEL for emissions warning reasons.
On mine, I had to removed and coded the feature off using my Gaptool IID to prevent the code. This was required when I installed the bull bar and winch on the front of the car. The crash bars/bull bar mounting and winch go where the active shutter would be. No issues. (ie its as if it’s always “open”)
