Auxiliary Power Socket (AC plug in loadspace)
I know the Auxiliary Power Socket in the cargo area is limited to 180 watts. Has anyone seen any mods that increase that somehow? Obviously the limit is there due to wire gauge used, fuse size, concerns of draining battery, whatever. Just curious if someone has modded it to increase the wattage limit and therefore the utility of the plug.
my girlfriend and I have a small, portable electric tea kettle for heating hot water and we would love to use that at rest stops, or while out exploring, but the 180 watt limit prevents that.
thanks for the wealth of knowledge as always

I think most folks have gone to totally rewiring in battery packs / battery generators back there for a lot of camping / overlanding use. A few of the threads worth checking out:
I could go on, but likely not meet your mark. My advice to everyone: the Forum's search is rough because it floods you with info not applying to the Defender. The "Advanced Search" is the way to go. Enter the search term and make sure you select the "2020 Defender" Forum. Also, ton of videos in Youtube at this point.
Good luck and post what you find/do.
- When I think of post apocalyptic humans scavenging electrical devices, I think of @Dogpilot . He can craft a radio out of coconuts like the Professor: Link.
- This is the original mega-thread on boosting electrical in the boot by @ADVAW8S . You can start here and go in many directions: Link.
- @Defendit.. probably addresses your direct question. Even has a pic of his "espresso machine" which may match your GF's teakettle: Link.
- If you want to try anything, ask @sarek . I don't think there's anything that he won't give a try when it comes to Defender innovations. The first time I drilled into my aluminum, I thought "wwsd"? Link
- Another "oldie but goodie" started off as a boot storage thread and turned into a lot about dual batteries and running a lot of juice. May be overkill, but I'm enjoying the search. Started by @zac431 Link
