Is he working on some sort of storage box for the step down in the 90 trunk?
Would be interested in that if it could fold away.
I made one, but it sucks, and if I need to access my tools or anything underneath it is a pain.

Not sure if this thread is still active but I have a question. You said in this reply “it may need a really good charge”…my question is how do you do that?

I just bought a used 2020 Defender 110 SE and it was sitting on the lot for almost 2 months. Ive had it a week and it didnt start yesterday, so I jump started it and then it ran fine. But given these threads Im feeling like between sitting for a while and my opening/closing doors getting it sorted out with my gear, its battery is probably drained.

I am taking it in for its initial maintenance to be safe, but just wondering how can I “recharge the battery to its max capacity”…if thats even a thing. Thanks!

 

Have the dealer pull the maintenance history to see if the original battery was ever replaced. If not, it is time for a new one. From my experience, the Defender battery is worn out and unreliable after 3 years.

 

I concur with PaulLR.

When the battery is greater than 3 years old and the "I need a charge" warning starts coming on regularly (and disappearing for a only a couple of days after a long drive), its time to replace it.

My P300 110 S battery lasted >4 years mainly because I always tried remember to turn off the auto stop/start feature.

These AGM computer monitored batteries and charging systems are a new (and tenuous) world ....... Enjoy!

 

My Defender is 3 years old and it just started giving me a battery charging issue. Like clockwork.

 

i have had the low battery warning come up for months but never had an issue turning on the car. well today the car wouldn’t turn on but weird the rear lights were on but nothing else would turn on. maybe a safety feature

i have full aftermarket audio system and dash cams installed. i don’t drive the car much and never lock the doors when parked. i checked with the dealer and since i got all the aftermarket items they said they won’t cover even though it’s a known issue.

going to trickle charge it and see if that helps

Well, I bought my CPO 75h anniversary D90 last sat then yesterday (6 days after purchase), I got low battery warning yesterday then my Defender completed died. no lights except outside light blinking like Ehloo's. I dont drive D90 much either and was thinking of replace horrible Meridian base system too just like Ehloo. Ctek So I had to buy a jump starter to start this 6 days old CPO car. Car started with jump starter but with orange CEL (Check Engine Light).

Connected Time-to-Go trickle charger failed to charge overnight. I started my car this morning with jump stater again (CEL still on), drove for solid 2.5 hours (highway and local with a few stops). So far, low battery warning went away and no CEL. I really didn't think I'll drive new (to me) Land Rover car with jump starter in the trunk...

 

I had the battery low message in my new to me 2020 X. It had sat on a dealer lot for about 2 months, and arming came up dat I bought it at the dealer, and came up for about 2 weeks into ownership. I tried a ctek charge a few times and a long highway drive and it came back.
Put a new H8 AGM from Walmart for $129 and ran the battery replaced option with my gap IID and all has been good since. My oem battery said 10/20 on the terminal, so it seemed to be original.
I put the same battery from Walmart in our 19 Range Rover last year which also replaced its factory battery and it has been good since too. Doesn’t hurt so bad when you can source a decent battery for a decent price. $129 and a 4 year warranty, I’m happy with it. Better warranty and price than autozone, advanced, oreileys or the dealer and probably the same battery under the stickers.

 

Thanks for sharing your experience. It looks like non-OEM battery and Gap Tool seems like must have tools in order to enjoy our Defenders as they suppose to.
