Default Compass panel elevation display problem

I'm seeing what looks like a software bug in the Compass display panel. The elevation (AMSL) is displayed lower left on that panel. When the vehicle is started up the initial elevation reading is correct, but then it mostly never changes while driving. Maybe one trip in ten it will actually dynamically update to show elevation changes. I haven't been able to figure out why it only works some of the time. This is a 2022 Defender currently on 2.1.0a software.

I couldn't find any mention of this on any forums - has anyone else seen this issue?

Same issue. Just waiting for an update to fix it I guess. If I open the 4x4 info the elevation reads just fine, but not on the Compass tile.

Okay thanks - exactly what I'm seeing. I reported it to JLR and they are now telling me there is an update pending for the vehicle that needs to be installed, but the vehicle is reporting that it is up to date.

Nice... why am I not surprised by this. More amusing is the outside temperature which is one number on the dash and another number on the weather widget tile of the display. Neither of which are accurate. The dash number is often way too high, it'll read 98 degrees F when it's 80 degrees outside and the weather widget I have no idea if that's just the high temperature forecast for the day or what it is, if it's the current temperature maybe after a while it updates. I have a free app, accuweather on the phone, I stick to that when I want to know. It would be nice if the widget worked as well.

The widget is the forecast. The dash temperature is the measured outside temperature, but that will not be accurate on start up if the vehicle has been parked in the sun, for example, or driving slowly in traffic.

Wrong placing position of the temperature sensor...
Never had that problem before with a VW, as example.

Not sure about that. You cannot get around basic physics; when the vehicle is parked in the sun and warms up, then no location for the sensor is going to give an accurate ambient temperature until the vehicle is moving and the resulting air flow has cooled it down. How long that takes is going to be somewhat dependent on the sensor location and vehicle speed. Some sensor locations are still better than others - I've had vehicles where it was too close to hot engine components, which always led to the temperature reading high. But the sensor in the Defender seems to be pretty close to ambient temperature after a few minutes of driving.
